Audition call for drama society

BEDALE Dramatic Society is looking for people to audition for their next production, Deadly Embrace, by Eric Paice. Auditions will take place at the Dales Care Centre, in Bedale, on Wednesday, February 10, from 7.30pm. The performance is due to take place in the week of April 18.

TAP LESSONS: Lessons in tap dancing are being held for the over- 50s. The classes take place over eight weeks at Richmond Town Hall, starting on Thursday, February 11, between 2pm to 3pm, costing [pounds]3 per session.

Dancers should wear light loose-fitting clothes and leather- soled shoes, not trainers. Booking is essential, call Jane Wyrill at Age Concern on 01609-771624.

SILVER BAND: Northallerton Silver Band will host its annual old time/modern and sequence dance evening at the Hambleton Forum on Wednesday, February 17, from 7.30pm. Dancers are asked to bring a pooled supper. Tickets cost [pounds]6 and can be purchased from Greensleeves music shop in Northallerton or by calling 01609- 777272.

GUEST SPEAKER: The Friends of Ripon’s Leper Chapel are to hear a talk by Francis Muncaster on his work to help the poor of India. The event starts at 11am with the talk beginning at 11.30am
